What is Qualtrics?

​Qualtrics is an advance survey platform. Qualtrics software enables users to do many kinds of online data collection and analysis including market research, customer satisfaction and loyalty, product and concept testing, employee evaluations and website feedback. It has significantly more survey question types and greater capabilities than Bristol Online Survey and is more secure and compliant that other online tools like SurveyMonkey.

How do I access the tool?​​

All staff, researchers, and all students within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences can use the software to run their surveys. Surveys for formal research projects must have ethical approval.

If I have a problem who can help?​

In addition to the getting-started tutorial, there is extensive online documentation and help buttons on many of the pages in the survey tool.

If you believe there is a problem with EASE or another University system, you may log your problem with IS Helpline.

​Can I use the tool for any surveys I want?

​There are no technical limitations in using the tool, however you should keep appropriate approval for running your survey. For administrative purposes, you should consider whether your survey overlaps with any conducted by the University Survey Unit. For academic purposes, you should seek ethical approval, through your tutor or through your School Ethics Committee.

How secure are my survey data and responses?

Data are stored in the EU guaranteed by a specific privacy agreement with Qualtrics.
